This blog is a place for me to vent my views and provides me a way to release my thoughts in an organized fashion. It just so happens you all can also read my thoughts. About me? I’m a klutz, I’m a Jesus follower, and I’m a Midwestern country girl who’s in love with her friends, family and free coffee.
More than anything, I am a student. Some would call me smart, more would call me average, all would say I like to learn. I consider every day a learning experience, every adversity a chance to grow, and every person a textbook to observe and study. Everyone has a story to tell. Life isn’t just about getting your voice out to be heard. You don’t have an opinion unless you have a repertoire to extract your opinion on. Most of the time, you just gotta shut up and listen.
Listening is what I like to do best. This blog helps me vent about my thoughts and opinions, yes, but it is just a place for me to leak the results of the times when I listen.
So because I like to listen, I am very eager for you to leave me comments. I like to be challenged in my beliefs; so talk to me. Challenge me. Ask me questions. Rant and write, write and rant. I’ll listen, formulate, then tell you what I think.
Life is a learning experience. When we finally graduate, we’ll have the greatest open house reception ever, with the Professor and Author as Host.

Good Evening Emmy Jo. I was surfing the Internet tonight, thought I would check out you weblog, found some interesting postings and enjoyed reading about you. I am going to send your email address & your weblog to my oldest daughter Julie, I believe she would enjoy reading your postings and communicating with you, she has become very conservative, she is a Teacher’s Aid at Cornerstone Christian School,(ELCA) my grrandson attends there in the 4th grade, she also is in charge of the school library and helps publish the school newsletter, so you would have something in common. Her name is Julie Lynn Clarahan, her email address is ladyoftruefaith@cox.net She as several degrees from Univ of WY. You are truly an outstanding young lady and I know your parents are very proud of you. I plan to follow your postings and will stay in touch with emails. I started the Round Robin Emails with the family as the oldest of your Mom’s generation of the Degner family. Much Love and Keep up the great work you do. Hope to hear from you soon. Jim
Dear Emmy jo,
I love what you’ve put together here. Your research is right on the money. You’re well read and obvisously do your homework. I will be using this page to continue fighting my daily political battles. Thank you for being strong. I know how unpopular it is to be on the RIGHT side of the fence.
Please let me know if I can be of assistance in anyway.

Thank you Lukas!
I heard through the grapevine you are facing some tough adversaries in your part of the country – good luck! Conservatives are doing better with their unification under the flag, and I strongly advocate further encouragement. Prayer, encouragement and fellowship are the best tools available, and always at hand. Thanks again for your support!

I’m Out!
Emmy Jo,
I noticed you have a labrador. I recently wrote an article about tips to keep your pets healthy in the summer. If you are interested in posting it on your blog, please contact me. Thanks!
Hi! I googled Emmy Jo to find my daughter’s engagement pictures and found your blog. You are the first “other” Emmy Jo I have ever “met”. Our daugther is 23 and was named after her grandmother who was Emma Lou and was called Emmy Lou. Our Emmy Jo loves the Lord Jesus too! Best wishes, Emmy Jo, on your endeavors.
That is crazy! I was named after my great grandmother Emma. My dad’s middle name is Lee, so my parents put the two together for Emmalee, but lots of people just call me Emmy Jo. Jo came from Joe Dimaggio – my mom is a huge baseball fan. Another funny coincidence, I am also engaged, and my future mother-in-law’s name is Patti. Funny how the world works! Tell your daughter her twin says hello!
Hi, Emmy!!
I hope you remember us
Jack, as you will recall, has the brain of an elephant and he does remember you. You were such a wonderful babysitter to him. He is now five and will be graduating from pre-k on Wednesday.
I trust that you are doing well and wish you the best!!
